Hi, I was wondering if it makes a difference when backing up a movie if you write the title on the disc (with a sharpie) before you burn, if it disrupts the burn in any way. I had a couple that errored and they were the only ones I have ever written on before burning, I didn't think that would make a difference, should it? Or should I always wait until the burn is done to write the title on the disc? Just FYI I am using Verbatim Advanced AZO DVD-R's Thanks!

I do both with sharpie, write before or after the burn. No issues, and only 1 coaster out of every 400+ backups.

Now on my cd/dvd markers: On my backup pc with a benq 1620,if I use those markers before the burn, the writing comes out all squiggly after the burn. No playback issues or coasters, just have to use alcohol and re-write the name on the discs.

    Verbatim: Top notch stuff!

Thank you, I think I just had a couple of scratched discs for some reason, they were the top two on a new spindle? Oh well, can't beat 100 Verbatim discs for $36 even if the top 2 are bad, no problems with the rest so far. Thanks!
