Hi, I'm wondering if it was possible to overuse your DVD Burner??? I've had my burner for a few months now and probably have burned about 100 DVDs with it so far. Today, I was in the middle of burning and it just sort of stopped burning and stayed at 56% Burned. I tried doing it again and it showed an error message and kicked out the DVD from the Burner. Does this mean I will have to replace my burner? And this quickly? It's a Sony, I would assume it would last much longer.
It should last longer. Maybe it's the media you are using or another program running at the same time....
What burning prog were you using, if you were using Nero then you can post a Log file so we can have a look. Log files can be found here. Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt
I think I fixed the problem. The power went out yesterday while I was burning a DVD but afterwards I was able to go ahead and burn it again. So I didn't think there was a problem. So now after having this problem, I restored my computer system to a few days ago and it finished burning for me. Something must've gone awry when the power went out. But thanks to everyone for your help!
