and what I thought was cool was that Tribes for PS2 is cd-based. I wonder if you can go online with a burnt copy?

Anyway, are you guys saying that these games can be backed up using the appropriate software and a regular CD burner and they will still work on a modded PS2? I always thought all PS2 games were on DVDs and would have to be backed up using a DVD burner, which I just can't afford right now... so if this is true, that's pretty cool.

This was answered in many other earlier threads, but anyways...

look on the back of cases on PS2 games, most of them will say DVD-ROM. But some times games will be made in CD-ROM format, and it will say so on the back. Those are the ones that can be burnt on a regular cd-burner as opposed to a more expensive DVD-burner. However, even though its still just cdr format, you should still burn at 1x speed.

Tekken 4 is DVD based.
Simpsons Skateboarding is CD based.

JAK & DAXTER CD?

Armored core 2 is also dvd based... not cd based

Both Devil May Cry and Jax and daxter Precursor Legacy are DVD formatt. Devil May Cry is surprisingly large for how short the game is (They barely can fit it on a dvd). Jax and Dax isn't nearly as large.
