I'm confused, a little. So far I've backed up about 20 movies without a problem. I use Dvd Decrypter and the ripping part has always been very quick. I believe I've been ripping at about 12x most of the time and it had only been taking about 6 or 7 minutes. Now all of the sudden, its taking 45 minutes to rip and it's only ripping at 1.9 or 2.0x. Anybody got a clue as to why ???

open up device manager on your computer delete the secondary ide controller then reboot your computer windows will reinstall the controller and turn on the DMA for your drive this is the most likley reason for long ripping time

ripping at higher speeds will cause more errors in the disk and burn out your burner quicker. Most say that they would never rip faster then 8x, and use 4x for the best quality, limited amount of errors. I stick with 6x's.

my first time @ 16x with my brand new burner put skipping on the dvd
