I have a couple CDs that have "special messages" that can be played by hitting the "back" button while on the first track. These sound files are not played when I ordinarily listen to the CD. How is this done, and what do I need to be able to do this myself?
    TIA,
    Kevin

It's burned in the pregap of track 1.
I tried with Samplitude, CD Architect, and Nero, but only EAC let me do this, other programs pretended that my burner didn't support this. You can try with Feurio too.

I made a wav file beginning with the hidden messages, and finishing with track 1.

I appended it as track 1 in EAC. Then I edited the cuesheet so that the index 1 of track 1 is the size of the hidden info.

Say that you've got a 2 minutes hidden track, then a 5 minutes track 1.
Make a 7 minutes wav with both.
In EAC, Write CDR, Append file as new track index 1.
Edit cuesheet, change track 1 index 1 from 00:00:00 to 02:00:00

    Burn.

Thanks for the suggestion. I need further advice. I have appended the file and am editting the cue sheet by "Edit CUE sheet" I change the value for the index of track 1, but I get a response that the index has to be 00:00:00. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Sorry, I was wrong, you must "append file as new track index 0 and 1", instead of just "index 1".
Then, in the cuesheet, let the index 0 to 0, and set the index 1 as needed.
