VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio...

Hi!

I'm new at thif forum so I'm sure that this question has been asked before...but then, here it is again :)
A friend gave me a movie on CD the other day which I started playing with the DivX Player 2 but when I tried to fast forward, the audio was a few seconds off.
After that happened, I opened the movie-file with VirtualDub and it gives me that error message : VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI-file...this will introduce up to 3117 ms of skew...if this is unacceptable decompress the entire stream to an uncompressed WAV-file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder.
Now, what the heck does that mean? Is there any easy way to solve that problem?
