I just purchased a new video card and now would like to moving on to more ram. I currently have 1 gig but would like 2 gigs. I would appreciate some advise on a good selection around $125.00. Here is what I have to work with: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...docname=c00485646&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN Also include my new ATI X800GTO.
do you have 2-512meg sticks or 1-1gig? most likely 2-512meg as info points to 512meg. get 2 more 512meg for 2gig.
Yes i have 2 512's with 2 slots open. I can handle upto 4 megs so I could install 2 1's and be ok but that is out of price range. I would like recomendations on brand and performance.
Ok, so I left this post alone for about 5 days now and only one response? I would really appreciate it if I could get some suggestions. From what I have read cosair is the prefered choice but I would like some more input. I really appreciate the help and it makes me feel better that I am chosing the right RAM going on your suggestions.
I am not one to suggest mixing memory modules...so, in my opinion if you really want the best performance, you're gonna have to know the timings of the current mods, and match those up with the ones you plan on purchasing, or ditch them all together and get two sets of matched 2x512 sticks. Corsair XMS, Kingston HyperX, and Crucial are your best bets for great memory.
