    I have some DVDs that play just fine on all my TV-connected players, but computers report no disc inserted. How can I copy them from DVD player to computer-friendly format, or make them play on computer?

    Same problem here. It is with just some DVDs that I can only play them on my stand-alond DVD player and not on my PC. Now, this PC can play most DVDs that I rent, buy etc. I have tried various things with no luck.

    LG 8160B drive
    O/S = win2000
    video = nvidia

    The first sign of problem was with a new DVD disk I bought for the kids. So I thought it was perhaps a "new" format that was just released but when I rented two DVD's the other day that were both 2-3 year old movies, one played while the other didn't. The drive doesn't even recognise that a disk is inserted.

    any help ! would be apprec.
