First off I'd like to thank you guys a lot I've posted 2 questions previously and the replies helped me out greatly. You guys rock!! But for question today i'm posting it here but maybe it should be elsewhere. I'm having problems burning backups of my dvd's. I have a Pioneer dvd-rw/cd-rw drive. Model dvr- 106D.I went into the device manager and it says that it is operating fine, but whenever I put in a blank dvd into the drive it makes a whirring noise for about a minute or two than stops. I tried to write a couple of times, where it starts to write than stops telling me that there is a power calibration error. Is it the drive, my copy of Nero, or is it something worse.Anyone with some answers, please help a brother out!!
Check that you have the latest firmware version (v1.08)for your writer and update if necessary www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/content/support/support/software.html#fdvdwriter
thanks, for the heads up cornwafer. did a little more investigating into the problem, found an old dvd-rw lying around and tried running an iso on it with no problem, I think it is the media i'm using despite the fact I went through a whole cake box of the same media previously. when I used the rw disc I heard no whirring sound as I did with the suspicious media I was using. When I get the new media I'll let all know how it goes, thanks!!
