My burnt cds won't play in my cd player

I just installed a NEC ND 3550A. I burnt a cd using the nero package that came with, it won't play in my cd player, but works on my computer and old boom box. I am using verbatim cd-r 16x, I had an old external burner and burnt using the same media and it works in my cd player so it is not the media. Could it be the burn program? Thank You

 

What speed are you burning your discs at? What are the speeds on your burners (write/rewrite/read)? You maybe burning the cds 2 fast and causing the Audio CD to misread them, CDDA can be tuchy sometimes.

 

My burner will read and write at 48X, rewrite at 32X. I burnt at 16X.Thank You

 

Its a sad fact of life that some CD players will NOT play burnt CDs. I had to try a number of different brands of media before I found one that worked.

You have nothing to lose, try different brands and stay away from any thing made by CMC Mag.

Have you tried the CD in a friends player, could be worth a shot.

 

I used to have an archos, I believe that is the name and it had nero for windows98, anyway I used the same media in it and it works on my player. Thanks

 

Thank you all! I changed my burning speed to 8X and it works in my old cd player. I have learned alot from this site. I will be on it often. Thanks again..... Craig
