i was trying to partiton a new external hard drive that i just bought and i was using partition magic 8 i thought PM 8 had froze so i had to to stop it and when i stopped it and restarted all the data i had on the external hd is gone i tried various data recovery programs but most of them were for deleted data and it wasnt deleted so it doesnt find much wat kind of a recovery would i need? a partition recovery? i cant figure it out and i really need this data Thanx
Yes, you will need a partition recovery tool, then pray to the silicon gods that your data will be intact when you're done. Lesson learned here: Backup your data before attempting any kind of partitioning on an already active drive. Partition Magic 8 can be your friend in certain aspects, or your worst enemy.
