Any help? I have been trying to burn a, divx rip avi file, for 2 days now.
Everytime I use Nero Vision the preview freezes after about 10 minutes, and the status bars show no progress after that. I have to do a control alt delete to shut down the program!
Tried to convert the file with TMPGEnc , after 20 hrs it finished. I tried playing the finished file, no audio!
Even tried to burn it using WMP with the Nero burn plug-in, It didn't like that at all.
I followed alk's guide to the tee, even.
The codec name is, DivX v3 ;-) MPEG4(low motion), havent a clue about the smiley, I copied the name ver batum from Avicodec app..
I would sure like to burn this for my kid to watch on the dvd.

    thanks, coda

@coda, I do quite a few of these files and all I have been using is NeroVisionExpress. Using this prog there is no need to convert, just let Nero do it for you.

Another prog you might like to try is the latest offering by VSO called ConvertX, it converts and burns your files into DVD pkayable format.
VSOConvertX should be available for trial in Software section at the top of the page.

Here's a link direct to ConvertX

well, after many hours of frustration i am beginning to wonder if the problem is having mixed media content, ie PAL and NTSC mixed files.
Still not having any luck on the burn and freeze issue with Nero 7.
Any ideas? Or is there a way to convert PAL to NTSC in a mixed media file?

    coda says thx again
