so i downloaded some grand theft auto vice city. i thought it was going well. i had everything going up until the point where i try to play it when a box appears saying to insert the "Vice City PLAY" disc. ive been fooling around with stuff but due to my lack of computer knowledge i was unable to get it to work. so any ideas? i am pretty sure i have all the required files, i just dont know what to DO. any help will be greatly appreciated.
I doubt you will find the solution to your problem here. You should stop by Google and see if it knows anything about Patches.
there is a very easy fix to get the game up and running. Buy it from a shop. I found vice city on the internet for £9.99.
Take it easy smurface. @PRIMUSAGE: Pirating is against the law. However, maybe if you did stop by google you would learn a few things...
I am guessing that most people experianced with this kind of thing would recomend using a copy of "Daemon Tools" or "Alcohol 120%" for mounting the game...Not that I'd know about that sort of thing;-)
You can always look for a no cd crack for the version number of the game. These are usefull if you have lots of games and hate having to change the disc over to play something else. You can find these at places like megagames and gamecopyworld
Get a No-CD like the guy said. Copy it than go to the directory of where the Vice City is, than paste it into the Directory and overwrite the old one, and you'll be able to play it WITHOUT the cd. Bassically by doing this, It remove's the cd protection and lets you play with No Cd. Either that or get a mini MIDI image and mount it into a Emulator Drive like DAEMON Tools and it should work
