its now taking me approx. 4-5 hrs to burn a dvd

i have a brand new laptop, an 8x dvd dl burner, 1024 ram, intel pentium mobile m 1.73 ghz. Ive read about changing the DMA on this site, so i tried that, and its still taking way too long, last week i was able to burn a dvd within 30 mins, just now i tried to burn another one, and after 45 mins it was only 17% complete, someone please help!!

Did you just apply the change, or did you uninstall/reinstall it? The latter worked for me, as oppose to the previous.

 

well, im not sure, i changed it, then rebooted..thats all i did, after i rebooted, i checked back and it was still on DMA so i thought that was all there was to it?

 

im using dvd shrink then nero to burn

 

What other programs are you running during this process, do you have your spyware running?

i have no idea about the spyware, when i start to try and burn a dvd, i close all of my other programs, and just have that running
