I have no idea why all this stuff keeps happening to me...

New PC, everything runs fine. Just got done playing Ultimate Spider-Man. I wanted to reboot my PC so I did, It boots up fine, goes to Windows and does my startup.

Than Monitor Just goes "BLACK" and I can't see anything. The Light on the monitor is still Green, and sometimes blinks, but I can't see anything.

Cooling seems fine, Asus Probe shows CPU and MB to be around 37 C.

I have no idea why this is happening. Anyone?

    Asus A8N-SLI
    AMD 64 3700+
    1 Gig of RAM

btw I'm in safe mode right now so the monitor isn't broken. Just don't understand why its not working in regular mode.

    Also heres something different now.

Can't boot up in Safemode anymore.
Tried normal boot up again, it takes twice as long to boot up with windows flash screen and than I just get a floating cursor.

After waiting 5 min I can control, alt, delete, restart explorer.exe and I get use of my pc but no internet access....

I ran a RAM test at the bootup and that seems to check out, PCI-E vid card shows temp at 51C with a 145C threshold.

    Anyone else? Please help.

Ok, after a lot of searching I didn't know what to do but I did this. I system restored it to a day earlier and this is what popped up.

System Restore will effect these chagnes: Machine ID Changed from (a bunch of numbers) to "mdlee"

mdlee being what I had originally. So what changed my System ID?

Anyways I'm back up and running but very scared the whole thing might happen again. Oddly Norton Internet Security 2005 didn't pick up anything. Anyone have any ideas?

yea but still looking for some answers if anyone has any. What could cause this problem?

So far the only indicators I have is the Really Long Bootup Time in the Windows screen and that the solution I had was to system restore.

    Anyone?
