hi my problem is that I rip a DVD to my HD I want to convert that DVD to avi because I want to put subtitles to that movie. I just want to know is there any program out there that would let me do that fast and easy, so I can convert that file to avi and don't have to do anything else(convert that file to avi, add the subtitles and convert to DVD format). you could rip your dvd with dvd decrypter in ifo mode setting your file splitting to none in options then load the resulting vob file into virtualdub mod and create an avi but why not look into a dvd authoring program that will let you add subtitles while still in mpeg 2 format the one I use is dvdlab pro
