Hi i'm building a new computer for myself. I want it to be really powerful but money is a concern too. I am going to have, a MATX motherboard and mATX aspire X-QPACK CASE with a 420 watt power supply. In it i will have 2 gb memory, 300gb HD, dvd burner, dvd rom,
ati all in wonder 9600 with 256 mb memoryabd built in tv tuner. And audigy sound card. However i cannot decided between cpu's. I want to go with either the amd x2 4200 or the amd x2 4400. Their is a large price diffrence. And i know the amd x2 4400 performs better. But is it a big diffrence, or is it better to just buy the amd x2 4200. I looked it up on cnet. And the amd x2 4400 is better in every test, however the x2 4200 still has very good ranking. The 4200 is $356, and the amd 4400 which is 456$ a $100 increase. I don't mind paying the extra $100 if it really makes a large diffrence. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you plan to Overclock go with the Opty 165 or 170 for around 320 - 420 bucks, the 170 is $420 roughly. The Opty 165 is the best bang for you buck and you can overclock the hell out of it, overclocks to 2.6 ghz average. If overclocking isn't your thing and you prefer the consumer oriented chips, the X2 4400 has the Toledo core which is also found in the FX60, plus the X2 4400 has 1MB L2 cache compared to the X2 3800 which has 512K cache. The choice is yours, choose wisely my friend......keep me posted
