Message Error-Failed to read from the file %s on Recode

I was initially recieving this error at the end of my burn. I deleted Nero and reinstalled and now the erroro occurs within 30 seconds of the burn beginning. It occurs if I try and copy an entire DVD or remake a DVD. I am pretty frustrated and help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. The following is the error log:

The DVDs you are copying, would they be copyprotected at all?
If this is the case you will need a prog like AnyDVD to break copyright, it's available for 21 day free trial from slysoft site, have it running along with your Nero prog.

You could also try uninstalling your version of Nero and trying this one

these are not copyprotected dvds. they are dvds of over the air basketball games from dvds burned on Humax tivo dvd recorder.

 

I would suggest you uninstall this version of Nero and then download this bug free version and see how that goes

According to your log file you STILL have NOT installed the version of Nero I recommended.

 

According to my nero Product center it indicates the installed version as 6.6.0.18 with the latest availalbe version being 6.6.0.14. Also when I down loaded the version from the site you provided it didn't include the Nero Recordeor Nerovision Express so I updated at the nero site with the following:

I uninstalled and tried to burn the dvds again. Same error occured. Since I am trying to put 2 dvds onto 1 I think I need to install update package 2 and then it shows on the log this version of Nero Nero API version: 6.6.1.4 rather than 6.6.1.18hich i downloaded form the suggested site given above. To get version 6.6.0.18 first you have to uninstall your current version, run general clean tool to remove it completely

and then re install 6.6.0.18 from here

This shouldnt effect any other parts of Nero, I am sure if you follow this you will overcome your problem.

 

Altough your LM03's aren't that bad (2nd class) your burner(lovely unit BTW) can't recognize them at all... It's not even trying to see it either... As you can see above it's completely empty. That is strange...

You should have something like this:

Different numbering of course...

I also noticed you had InCD installed on your first log. Good jog you kept it out on your re-installs. InCD will clash with Nero big time.

 

Gwendolin,I uninstalled Nero as follows: Control Panel -add or remove program-listed Nero OEM & Nero Digital, uninstalled Nero OEM and then ran general clean tool adn reinstalled Nero from the site you listed. This left the Nero Record and other programs on my computer. Tried to burn the dvds as before and the following error occur and it appearss that it still shows Nero 6.6.1.4 still installed. Help should I tryanother program to burn dvds rather than Nero?

Everything seems to be fine but the burner is still not seeing the disc... Let me have a google about to see if i can figure out another possibility...
In the meantime have a go on a dvd-rw disc... You never know...

 

Thanks any help would be appreciated. I will try a DVD-RW tonight. The error log still shows the version of Nero as Nero API version: 6.6.1.4. Is this a problem?

 

Well i uninstallled Nero, used the cleanup tool and reinstalled both packages and finally have the right version installed, Nero API version: 6.6.0.18. The dvd begins to burn and an hour and half later the dreaded Failed to read from the file error message appears. I am at the end of my rope. Here is the log and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I revert to my hammer to fix the problem!!

This morning I tried to copy entire disk in Nero Express. The burn was successsful. Used the same media as I used above and was copying from the same disk I was trying to copy from in Nero Recode. This seems awful strange why I can't burn successfully in Nero Recode.

 

Permiggs I tried to burn to DVD-RW this evening with the same results. Dreaded error message!Earlier this morning I copied an entire disk in Nero Express and it worked but it doesn't work in Nero Recode.Also I noticed in the Nero Recode 2 Recoding & Burning window in the status box for frames/sec it was 0.00. I have attached the latest error log. I am not sure where i go from here.

I havent been doing logs for all that long so I dont know what this means as I have NEVER seen it before.

Maybe someone will come along and explain it then we'll both be wiser.

You are using a RW, are you erasing disc before burning?

 

Gwendolin, in reviewing the previous posted logs the following was listed for the recording mode-

The dvd-rw was newly opened so I didn't erase it first before trying this burn. I will earse adn try again. Thanks.

 

Really, everything IS fine there... But the media is still invisible to the burner... What bugs me tough is that it works on Express...
Could that be a corrupted Recode file?

 

Permiggs I don't know if this will be helpful but attached is the log from the successful burn in express. Also this morning when I was trying to use Nero Recode with the erased dvd-rw after I imported the 1st dvd and went to import the part of the 2nd dvd i wanted to burn my machine kept freezing up and I would have to re-boot.
