I am extremely new at this. Everything I know I have learned from this website in the last couple of weeks. I want to put tv shows/movies that I recorded on my new pc (with windows media center 2005) onto my mp3 player. My mp3 player is a Samsung YPT8Z. It will only use the software that came with it to convert the videos to .svi. I was able to convert trailers that I downloaded but it will not convert anything I've recorded or anything that is .mp4 format either (I also have a psp). If any more info is needed let me know. Thanks (If you need to know my tuner is ATI Theater 550 Pro TV Tuner).

Well your Card uses a Hardware Mpeg encoder Chip so it Captures to Mpeg-1/2 Format so maybe the reason why your software won"t convert these Files is because you don"t have a Proper Mpeg-2 decoder installed on your System......

If you Install a Proper DVD Playback Software (WinDVD or PowerDVD) then it will install the Correct Mpeg-2 decoders and AC3 audio decoders which should Hopefully make is so you can Play back your Files and encode them.....

    Good luck
