My 2 year old nephews gamecube broke. It turns on but the disk does not spin. I am guessing that it is motor. Where is a good reliable place to buy a new motor for the gamecube. Anyone every replace one? They do not have the money to buy a new gamecube so I want to help them out by fixing theirs.

    Thanks

It costs almost as much to get the motor as it would to get a used GC for parts.

Thats what I thought. I found a brand new motor for $9.95. I bought that. I just need to find out how to open it now. I hate to spend 10 bucks on that tool. Is there any local stores that would carry it and what would I ask for. I have enough tools at home to build, paint a complete car but no tool to open a dang Gamecube.

Use the melt Bic pen method and replace the GC screws with regular philips screws or flathead that is up to you. That is what I did,and it works like a charm and you won't have to worry about the GC screws anymore.

Where do I find out about the melt bic pin method? If that is the easiest I will do that.
