Okay well i burned some data onto a memorex 8x dvd-r using my dvd combo drive and tried to view the files on it with unleashx, but it read it as an audio cd. I then placed a game in the disc tray to see if the drive was reading right, it said a game was in. So then i put the data disc back in and it read it as a data disc. I rebooted afterwards and the xbox read it as an audio cd again. Before this, I had burned data and it worked fine on a Memorex 16x dvd-r. So thinking that it was just the DVD speed i burned the data again onto a 16x and it also read it as an Audio Cd. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Xbox specs:
    UnleashX (Newest)
    Xbox Version 1.1
    DVD Drive Samsung
Known read DVD Media Types - Memorex 16x

    PC Specs:
    Liteon DVD-RW/CDRW Combo Drive
    Nero 6
    Xiso maker - Qwix
    DVD Media Types - Memorex 8x, 16x

    TIA

you should try to burn them at a slower rate..
I have a new thomson and it reads EVERYTHING.. it reads DVD-RW and DVD+RW but it only works if I burn them at speeds 2X or 4X.. hope this helps..

i tried 4x on the dvd-r 8x but its still doesnt work and nero won't let me burn at 2x

it may be that the Xbox just doesn't read Memorex well as they are about the worst DVD's you can get for backing stuff up.
With 16X discs then 6X should be just fine.
I burn at 4X with my 8X DVD's all the time.
