converting a movie file to mpg

    hi im havin trouble finding a program that will convert and burn a movie file to a dvd that is not given a format but previously had one. it had a format until i renamed the file and put it onto a cd-r and it just changed to a regular file. plz someone help me.

    why cant you just change it back

    no i donwloaded it and deleted it

    i didnt change it to nethin purposely but its on a cd-r and if i want to play it i have to choose from a list of programs

    so why dont you copy and paste it back to youre hard drive, then re encode it back to mpeg2

    ive tried using video converters , but the program won't detect the file as a video file. i need a program that can do this.
