Hello all. My dad has recently found all the old projecting disk his father recorded of them growing up and has filmed the projections onto a VHS tape and then used our dvd recorder to burn to a dvd. Now he wants me to make a copy to give to his brother but i tried 3 different programs and i get an error on all three programs at 29% Why is this happening? I have ANYDVD running in the background (for the hell of it) and its not an illegal dvd its an Sony 4.7 DVD-R 120min media disk. I tried using DVD Shrink and it gave me the check refundry disk error. I tried using DVD Decrypter and it gave me this error : And i tried NERO COPY DVD and it gave me this log: Can anyone help or give me other options?? @joeg112 Nero, Decrypter & Shrink are telling you that there's something wrong with the disc your trying ti rip from. Try cleaning it off. A firmware update may help your drive read the disc but from the log Nero only lists a generic drive. What's the make and model of your drive? You can also try ISObuster to rip to your HD then burn w/ Nero. Here's a link: http://www.isobuster.com/
the company of my dvd burner has gone out of business or something and i can not find a drive update anywhere but i have a Micro Advantage DVD +RW 16x max, dvd rewrite 4x, cd write 48x DVD double layer 8.5gigabytes IDE INTERNAL Model number: 16ddvdrw-a13 So your saying there is something wrong with the disc??? It plays perfectly so i dont know why I can not make a copy of it :-(
@joeg112 The errors your getting - crc, unrecovered read error, error reading data usually mean that your drive is detecting an error on the disc. Drives are more sensitive to 'bad' spots when ripping then players are. Some drives are also better than others at getting past these spots. You can also try ripping in iso mode with decrypter or cleaning off the lens on the drive.
