i have created my .d2v project file but when i locate the video source and click start i get the following error msg.
" file ***.d2v ca not open, or unsupported"
i have downloaded the plug in too. any ideas what i might have done wrong ??

Have you followed the instructions on how to install the VFAPI plugin?

Close the TMPGEnc and then...

'After downloading, unzip to same folder as TMPGEnc.exe is stored, then run "TMPGEncVFP_Install.bat"'

...and run the TMPGEnc again and try opening the d2v file.

I just fought this one for a couple days. Yeah Im slow. I assumed that the newest dvd2avi would have the vfapi plugin in the install like 1.76. Guess what it didnt. just copy the file from 1.76 and you'll be good to go
