Try gently polishing it. Usually the data itself isn't damaged by the scratch but rather the path the laser must take to get to the data is blocked. I have heard toothpaste can be used to remove scratches but have never tried it myself. I had doubted it when I had heard that, but it's even listed on a document from Sony describing DVD and CD care. http://sony.storagesupport.com/mediacare.htm
lol, thats what i would do, it does work...you have to use the white toothpaste though, no special one like with the glitter looking stuff
