Any way to shrink a 4.8GB iso on to a 4.7GB DVD-R?

I've been putting 3 movies (.avi) on to a disc image using DIKO and up until recently it's been working just fine, but the last few, I've been encoding as anamorphic instead of 4:3, and even though the input files are never more than about a GB, the resultant image is coming up just over (usually 4.8/4.9GB).

    So, questions...

1- Is there anyway to shrink the 4.8/.9GB iso on to a 4.7GB DVD-R?

2- Would me encoding the films anamorphic instead of 4:3 result in the incresed size of the iso?

    Thanks.

Yeh, thought of mounting the image then using DVDshrink about 5 mins after I posted.

    Thanks anyway.

    Anamorphic question still stands.
