I got a question for you. I've been comparing Mobos and and thie RAM speeds that they suport. Anyway, what I've noticed is that most of the mobos I look at that support the Pentium D Processors do not support 333MHz RAM speed. The few that do support Pentium D processors and 333MHz of RAM will only let me expand my RAM to 2 Gigs, which I what I have now. All I really need is a new mobo, a CPU, and new case. Anyway, bottom line: Do the Pentium D processors require at least 400MHz RAM speed or is it a mobo preference because I seem to have the hardest time finding mobos that support the Pentium D and 4GB of 333MHz RAM.

    Thanks folks.

the reason is that most pentium Ds mobos only support DDR2, which start at 400mhz and goes up which is 220pin the one in your motherboard at the moment is ddr ram which starts at 266mhz and goes up to 400 mhz. SO u need an older motherboard which has probley been discoiuntiued, Hope this helps, have fun.

    Regards

Grr...Why didn't I know you were gonna say that!!?? (sighs, laughs) Oh well. Thanks though. I just hate having to buy more RAM becasue my 333 MHZ is pretty new. But, I guess if I want a Pentium D, I do not have too many choices. My mobo now supports 400MHZ RAM, but I do not have it in there. Who knows...it might even support a pentium D processor. But I need more expansion slots!

    But thanks though!

altho ur motherboard supports up to 400mhz its still only ddr which is 184 pin, not ddr2 whcih is 220 pin, also ddr2 is meant to be much better, i would go for at least 533mhz.

    Sorry mate.

Well, I guess there's always ebay, huh? If I'm going to go out, might as well go all out.
