Ive been trying out various avi to dvd converters.
all of which are to pixelated or has good picture but has lag/glitches every few minutes.

What modifications can i make with the program so that there will be no glitches?
If i convert avi to mpeg 2 then burn to dvd will there be any glitches?
Should i just burn the avi files to dvd and find a dvd player that supports divx, xvid, etc.? if so will that be glitch free?

    any help is appreciated

Boondocks came out ok but id like a menu for each episode and get rid of any glitches

any suggestions on commercial software or freeware?

There is a really good guide in my sig, by alkohol.

You MUST use good quality media, stay away from any CMC Mag manufactured discs, including Memorex.

If your looking for a program to do your converting, Ulead DVDMovie Factory does a great job. It actually makes the menus and everything + burns the project.

gwendolin is right, save yourself the headack, use good quality media! Remember to keep your burn speed low (2x,4x) to avoid pixelation problems.

    thanks for the help

    looks like alot to learn
    oh well

I cannot wait for my Inuyasha and Fullmetal alchemist files to be on dvd, but i want a menu, chapters, what ever else.
i want to make the video somewhat presentable and playable.

are tdk considered good media? i collect lots of Phish shows and have used them as my main brand, DVD's and CD's.

    What is CMC Mag?
Would converting to mpeg-2 make the picture any cleaner or worse?

I read the forum from alkohol, NICE and easy
What version of nero startsmart should i get? some forums say the old is better than new?

Opinions before i make a purchase on a program?
are freeware programs just as good.

Its a manufacturer of media such as Memorex and others, it is usually of poor quality and causes untold problems. Most here at AD recommend not to use these products.

TDK is not the best media you can buy either.
Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden and media Made in Japan are all good.
