I am using a roxio enternal burner, 1 gb ram and plenty of disk space. Occasionally I will receive the response after the burn says "burn successful completed" that a transcode error {0x1) as occured. This copied disc is ruined. I am using Any DVD for my decryption software. Any comments on how to avoid this error would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve
steve1600-- What burning program are you using? What speed? If it is Roxio, then I would try a different program--ie.Nero, Imgburn or any other. Whitfield
Thanks Whitfield for replying. I am using a Pacific Digital Burner and it came with the Roxio software. Actually this error appeared once before and I decided instead of routing the burn from my internal DVD reader to my external DVD writer that I would route it the hard drive and then try to burn it from there. After 3 attempts it finally produced an acceptable copy. Do you know if this error is because of a compression problem. I have been using a speed of 16x for most of my burns. I am not familar with IMGBURN. Steve
Slow it down to at least 8x and see if your backups come out, 16x is a little fast and can cause playback problems. Also as suggested Roxio is not the best sw to use for DVD Backups try something else.
