Months ago I gave up trying to burn mpeg compilations to DL because I had a house full of coasters and I never, even after visiting here, figured out why. So I'm going to try again. I have Nero6 Reloaded: what updates MUST I have to be able to burn to DL? I have a Pioneer 108 - heck - I've forgotten the number but it IS DL compatible, ( I know 'cos I've Decrypted onto DL) and flashed to 1.20. Every time I tried to burn a DL I got the "too big for media" thing, even tho' the screen showed a DL disc in the recorder: each time I tried it just stopped halfway through. If there is a How To or FAQ specific for this please point me to it. I have masses of free space, memory and chip horsepower. Thanks.
@boytool I have the same burner with the 1.20 firmware. Use Verbatim dual layer discs if your not. I also use dvd decrypter to do dual layer. Rip in iso then pick burn in iso picking the .mds file decrypter created. Here's a guide: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/Copying a Dual Layer DVD in DVD Decrypter.pdf DVD Decrypter can be downloaded from here: http://mrbass.org/dvdrip/
Thanks for your reply. Actually I'm not burning ripped or decrypted files, but collectons of mpegs. I have read posts here that say sometimes Nero simply stops at the "change-over" point of the DL disc. The only way to find out is to risk buring another coaster. I still need to know if I must have any particular update.
@boytool Post one of your nero logs for the dual layer. They can be found here: Nero 6 - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt or for Nero 7 here - program files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>nerohistory.txt. Be sure to edit out your serial # - begin w/ 1A or 1C.
