I am looking to buy two Dvd-Rom readers. I have two Nd3540a drives and they don't read very well. I need two. I could get two of the same ones or different ones. Let me know of some good readers. I have been looking on Newegg at the sony DDU1615, liteon SOHD-16P9SV, or ASUS DVD-E616AG. Thanks for any help.

I have had a Lite-On 167T for over a year and its a fast ripper and there is hacked/modified firmware available should you choose.
You can get them at Wal-Mart for under $30.

You may want to look into modified firmware (e.g. Liggy & Dee) for your 3540 to remove the riplock. It will then read faster. The NEC 3550a comes with riplock removed right out of the box and was only $26.99 after rebate at Meritline last week.
