First off, I tried the search, but with my slow internet I was going crazy.

Ok what I'm looking to do is split a DL movie into two disc. I would like the main menu to be on both. Disc 1 would have the main menu and movie and Disc 2 would have the main menu and extras.

I was thinking this was a good idea because at most there would be very little compression on the main movie so it would retain a high quality.

Could somebody please point me to the guide that says how to do this, assuming it's even possible. Or if there is no quide, and somebody does know how to do it, hook me up.

    Thank you!

You could do this with DVD Shrink.

If disk 1 is only going to contain the main movie then I would think it's easier just to use Shrink in reauthor mode to grab the main movie only. Why use a menu if there's really only one choice?

But, if you really want that menu on disk 1 with the main movie, then instead of reauthor mode open the movie in full disk mode. On the left side window expand the Extras folder. Then, highlight a title and on the right side window, under Video, change it from "Automatic" to "Still Image". Do this for each title under the Extras folder. This will eliminate each extra from the disk leaving only the menu and main movie.

For the 2nd disk of special features, you'll use the same technique, except this time you'll replace the main movie with a still image. Expand the Main Movie folder, highlight Title 1, then on the right side window under Video change "Automatic" to "Still Image" and now the main movie is eliminated.

The reason I'm wanting to do this is I like the look of the main menu loading when you put in the dvd. I know not the best reason, but if I can do it... why not?

If you like the look of the main menu then that's a good enough reason. Shrink makes it easy to use the main menu but still include or exclude what you want :)
