Perfect DIVX movies are freezing

    I have a large collection of DivX movies and a good portion of those movies have frequent crashes/freezes. Using the DivX player I get this message during the movie:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Library
    Runtime Error!
    Using a different DivX player (GDIVX) the movie just freezes.
    I would like to know if this problem is fixable, and why it happens.

    Do you have the right codecs installed?

    download G-spot and load the avi and itll tell you which codec the movie was encoded in
