Cant Burn Cds But Can Burn DVDs

    I Cant Burn Any Cds Its Like It Doesnt Read The Blank Media CD I Put In But I Can Bur Dvds Fine Whats Up With That & Does Anyone Know How To Fix This Anoying Problem????

    What brand of CDs are you using and which program are you using, dont reply with just NERO, give details.

    Im Using Maxell's & Using Nero 6.6.0.3 It Souunds Like It Cant Read It & The Worst Of All Is That It Used To Read & Burn Cds Too

    You might have a corrupted system aspi. Use nero info tools and click on the ASPI tab.
    You should see something like this on your info tool:

    Also here is what AD says about ASPI layers and how to install them:

    Everything is fine if it comes up green. If you get red, it will tell you that you have a corrupted aspi. There is a program called killaspi, and it removes the corrupted one. I think it is in the force aspi package.

    No system aspi is fine, but a corrupted one will cause strange problems like able to burn DVD but not CD.

    i am having the exact same problem, it has't got anything to do with the disks, i have tried alot of different types, also i have updated my firmware even reinstalled the drive and nothing, any ideas on how to solve this problem would br great thanks guys
