As the title says:Would the Big Typhoon fit with out making any slots unusable or putting too much stress on the motherboard? coolers are designed to fit on the boards they are ment for, it shouldnt put any stress on the board and wont cover over any of your slots
Just a side note,I've read that in some instances the motherboard has to be removed to install this combo.(I was going to buy one)
ok thanks I just wanted to know because I have heard it is really BIG.I didn't know if the size outweighed the benefits of the cooler, which they don't so I will be buying one soon. Thanks Agian
Generally big coolers are usually only OK with big cases, such that the PSU is some distance above the CPU. If they're cramped and next to each other (especially in microATX cases) you could have a problem. For big coolers it is advisable to remove the mobo from the case. You can sometimes leave it attached to the side panel and remove the side panel, but usually you'll need to find something else to hold it on while you work.
Ok,also will this one fit and keep an AMD 64 4200 X2 cool when overclocked?I want to research every possibility to the fullest before I make my new Pc.That way I won't run into any Compatibility/Size issues when I build it. Thank You, for all your help. Also this is the case I will be using with the blue ORB2: ASPIRE X-Infinity Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window - Retail http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811144076
Case looks good! The only forseeable difficulty with the blue orb is that it's very difficult to install and is a tight fit sometimes due to the stupendous size of its fan.
