I have read on here and other sites as well, And have decided that i would like too build my first Computer, The more you read the more confussed i get, Like going with intel processor or Amd which chip set and on and on, Iam not a real big gamer but play some every once in awhile, I look at case's and some come with a power supply, but how good are they? I look at other guys spec and think i may go that route. I want a computer that runs XP home or pro without a problem? I want too conect my new build pc too this one i already have (wireless)You get so many opions when you ask about something, i guess thats the nice thing about the internet, but confussing, I dont want anything intergrated i want to be able to upgrade with out changing the mobo? It also assures you avoid proprietary designs many companies use to keep you coming to them for new parts. Best of all, having built the system yourself, you become very familiar with that system and with computers in general. But, besides the joy of it, is it worth it? Iam really going to do this it cmes down too qa few qustions how do you config the motherboard? and how do you config the bios? And what do i really need for me i want a smokin machine but dont want to break the bank? And for someone that has never built one do you just look at what has been built already and copy it or spec one yourself, I guess what iam asking is can someone spec me a couple options, and i go and get what i need is that the way? Price is another i would like to spend around $1000 and get a LCD monitor later. If this post is confussing then you know where i stand LOST.... Thanks for the time and help and iam glad we have this site as well, Oh and i want the opyion of copying dvd and backing up, so i would aslo need a cd/dvd writer?
Sure i will post a few specs....but where are you from U.S or another country A good chip Intel: Intel Pentium 4 640 3.2Ghz / 2MB Cache / 800 FSB / Socket 775 / HyperThreading / Processor with Fan AMD:AMD Athlon 64 3700+ / 1MB Cache / 2000MHz FSB / Socket 939 / Processor with Fan Motherboard: Intel:Intel D975XBXLKR Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard / Audio / PCI Express / Gigabit LAN / S/PDIF / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID AMD:Asus A8N-SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard / Audio / PCI Express / Gigabit LAN / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID / SLI Graphic Card ATI Radeon X1600 Pro / 512MB DDR2 / PCI Express / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card CASE: A good case should have atleast 450 watt Power supply Hard Drive Maxtor / DiamondMax Plus 9 / 250GB / 7200 / 2MB / ATA-133 / EIDE / OEM / Hard Drive (Refurbished) RAM(memory) Intel:K-Byte 1024MB PC5400 DDR2 667MHz Memory AMD:Corsair Value Select 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory CD-RW/DVD-RW Lite-on SOHC-5236K / 52x32x52x CD-RW / 16x DVD-ROM / Black / Combo Drive OK remeber that these components are based on either an Intel chip or an AMD chip so if you change chip you are gonna have make sure it is compatible with other componets..... These components I chose were from http://www.tigerdirect.com it came out to be about 970 without some rebates and without shipping and handling Thanks
heres my take, The case which comes with psu - do not get. There are pants. You could get a: Asus AN8-SLI Socket 939. 200-250gb SATA hdd or more Nvida 6600GT or 6800GT PCI-E. 2 DVD-RW. A good case. A Psu A nice AMD 3200+ - 3500+ socket 939. 1 or 2 gb PC3200 ram for that price and will run like a dream. Also i would go wiht XP-Pro. really its a trial and error sort of thing, i mean HDD can only plug into one palce as can the processor as can the ram and dvd-rw drives. So its really quite simple. If i have confused u please say and i will try and make it easier.
Iam from the USA,(Indiana),No it seems that you have made it quite simple? Just don't go any where i may need some pointers!
Hey there Hoosier! If you need any help give me a shout,I'll assist you any way I can(except financially that is.) LOL!!
