The only icons I have on my desktop are the ones that i use frequently. The only icons that appear in the tray area (bottom right) are the programs that i need running constantly, like spyware, internet, internet security, battery (on the laptop) etc. Other than that, nothing else. Elminate all that garbage you don't need. And above all else, restart the computer!
