Much discussed, the result is always what the user likes. kinda weighted question.

Strategy: Starcraft, or anything by blizzard (system is well laid out, management is easy, nice balance of resource and strategy plus the online content is awesome and free)
MMORPG: World of Warcraft: Blizzard again, online is fun and peeps are helpful, you dont ahve to be a hardcore gamer to do well and get far.
FPS: Half-Life 2: im a sucker for physics, and they are worked beautifully in this game.
