there's a $5 mail-in-rebate at meritline for the 50-pack right now. it's a RiData (manufacturer) rebate. it'll bring down the price to $19.50+shipping. if you live in california, the tax is $2.02. shipping for me is $6.68. so total before rebates is $33.20. if you don't live in california, you're looking at $31.20 shipped. supermediatestore's price is $31.99. that's not even factoring in the price difference with the MIR. i've ordered from meritline.com before. this is a pretty good price so i think i'll order another one right now =)

i got a rebate from them and it covered the shipping. shipping was only 6 dollars this time around since i use these dvd's to make movies and back-up games and saves.

Does it matter that they are DVD+R ????

some GC's support DVD+R and some don't. Personally mine supports DVD+R but won't run DVD-R. You'll just have to experiment.

    What about these Ritek Arita's????

They are G04 as well. I'm thinking of purchasing a New Full DVD top for my Cube but I don't know if its actually worth it since mini-dvd's prices have fallen significantly

    Anythought?

Full size DVD's are more compatible than minis and are more reliable.
Minis really never worked good for me so I would suggest the Full size. It was worth it to me.

Don't get Arita DVD media. I read a couple of in-depth reviews about them since the low price caught my interest, and it turns out they're bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. As in, most of the discs that they received had numerous visual defects. Not scratches mind you, but the dye itself had visual defects (lines, blotches, etc.).

That review has some of the pictures I'm talking about. I'd rather pay the extra ten bucks and get quality media.

Full size DVD's are more compatible than minis and are more reliable.

In your case maybe, but generally speaking they're actually better for GC since they're less taxing on the motor. For soft modded GCs, mini DVD media is used far more often than full size since the idea is that the GC won't have to be opened or modified in any way, shape, or form.

    Those are fine.

I myself prefer Verbatim and Fujifilm, but that's only because I know they work well with anything I use them with (Xbox, GC, PS2, DVD players). I've also had success with Maxell. I've also heard Taiyo Yuden is good, and I recently purchased some from Meritline to see for myself.

I don't recommend Memorex, as they seem to only work with my DVD players and not with any of my game consoles.

i have about 10 gc games on memorek discs and they work fine for me.
i have those Aritas and they work fine on my gc. even those DVD-R's work when they usually don't.
