Subtitles appear during playback of DVD that has no Root Menu

    I burned a movie title alone and left subtitle data. Copying to HD was done with DVD shrink and burning was Idone with Clone DVD.
    When i played the dvd in a standalone dvd player it played with english subtitles.

    Is there anyway to remove subtitles from playback through the dvd player, even though the dvd has no root menu? or do I have to reencode and remove the data for the subtitles?

    i would say yes,unless you can turn them off with the remote

    hursty is right... If you can't switch them off with the remote (which you should be able to), you will need to reencode...
