I have tried numerous antivirus programs. I cant seem to find one that i like. i am currently using Bitdefender9. The scan takes about a hour to scan a 40GB hdd and for some reason it always wants access to the internet my firewall is continuously popping up i dont know the program is doing i have tried everything to possibly stop it from accesing the internet i turned auto updates off, turnrd off virus reports and a few other things off. cant figure it out
i think the only time the program should access the internet is when i tell it too (to get updates) thats it. Ive tried Mcafee theres no anti virus just virusscan, firewall and really confusing updates.
I have also tried norton antivirus 2006 dont like it neither it wants too much control it wants to do everything like be the firewall, do a scan when you dont need to etc. and if you dont, the annoying popups start. sometimes when im plating games, all of a sudden norton will pop up in the middle of my game and tell me to do something liketurn on automatic updates. I want just a plain and simple program. That just is a antivirus thats it and a occasional scan.
I have tried a few free ones too. AVG which is actually alright and Antivir which is OK too but since they are free they are stripped down and dont work as good.
If anyone here knows about any good antivirus programs. help me out.
sorry this is kind of long but had to tell you the whole story

Nod32 is very good and lightweight and Kaspersky is good, too.

    AVG free is excelent.

If you realy want top protection use AVG pro, i used it and never had problems with it its so simple!!

use AVG pro, the ones -Kemisti- says are also good, AVG pro is in my opnion the best however, bottom line is give AVG pro a ago..if you realy realy dont want AVG free.

I like Nod32 but Kaspersky and Bitdefender are also rated high on virus detection. New Norton is really good also.
