I have a modified xbox and player dvd -r games (burned from my Mac using toast) I frequently get error messages that the disk is dirty or damaged...this happens on most of my games at one point or another. Is this caused by poor quality dvd's, is it possible my dvd burner is going bad (it is an old one) or is the lens on my xbox dirty. Any help on this would be appreciated. PS a friend has the exact same mod and doesn't seem to have problems.
i dont know i have never used toast but always burn at slow speeds never over 4X.and use good quality media verbatim,Ridata,Taiyo Yuden,office depot are the best cheap brand too buy becuase they are made by the same people that make Ri Data i believe......
I have an older DVD burner and it can only burn -R and only at 1X. I have tried verbatim dvd's but none of them worked! All of them gave the error. I have been using Fuji brand and some of the games work, but many of them hang up through out the game.
Some new games give you that error message too. I did a Toca Racing Back up , it loads profile then when i try to race, i get " Dirty Disc error" and there is'nt even a piece of dust on the disc. :/
