I own several favorite movies on dvd. I always wished that the "deleted" scenes were part of the movie. Is there any way to edit these deleted scenes back in, and keep the dvd quality of the new extended version when finished the same as the original, including the 5.1 dolby digital? The deleted scenes are all the same aspect ratio (2:35:1) as the movie itself, and the soundtrack on them is also 5.1. They would edit in perfectly.
dvd shrink & clone dvd2 allow you to re-author & cut parts from the movie. with a bit of time it may be possible to do it with one these programs. clone dvd2 would probably be the better option. you may have to make several short files upto the deleted scene then insert it, then once you have added all the scenes reauthor them all into one file. i have never tried this but think this is possibly a way to to it. there is also dvd-rebuilder which i have never used so dont know anything about it or wheather it would do what you want. i'm sure someone who uses it can let you know. let us know the results be interesting to see if you get it done good luck
Gil, thanks, I do have Clonedvd2, it's my favorite for back-ups, but I never considered that it could do that, I will give it a try. Not sure when combining into one file if the edit would be clean or what......this will give me something to do tomorrow on my day off hehe. I don't have Dvdshrink but have heard much about it. The movie I want to re-edit is The Producers, the musical that came out at Christmas. They cut 3 of the filmed songs for the theatrical release, and they will be on the dvd as "extras." I am hoping the lead-in dialogue is there too, but I know they are in the same aspect ratio and also in the same sound format (DD 5.1). It doesn't come out until May but I am wanting to figure this out before. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. I just looked at Clonedvd2, and I am confused as to how I would do that????
below the preview scrren in clone dvd there is a pair of scissors. click this which will then bring up a "timeline" bar you can then select the first bit of movie before the first deleted scene then make that into a file. then do this with the next scene until you make all the files with the deleted scene at the end. then combine all the files to make one file. enjoy your day off
guys on this note is there a way to do something similar with the director's commentary? I'm trying to maintain the main movie with the audio commentary option too. I suspect it won't work out the same way since its audio over the main file which you cant really create a file out of...
if you back up the complete dvd it will keep all the audio. or if you re-author you can select what you want on the dvd so just drag the audio you want into the burn column
Probem is I only want the main move title along with the commentary option. If I re-author, Shrink wont let me add the menu. If I was to add it without the menu I' assuming it would really be operable; for example how would I turn it on? Plus, I dont evem know where the audio commentary file is located when I browse through the files?
