Hi! I just hardmodded my xbox a week ago and its working great! Running on an X3CE with an Xapter Plug.

I was wondering if any of you knew if there was a limit of the size the hds can hold. I had a spare 60gb that I put in there but since the xbox is able to do so much I am thinking about getting a 300gb.

My computer had some trouble running on a 300gb because of the type of IDE or something... I dont remember. Something about 64bit tranference rates or something... but anyway, I had to get RAID card because my mobo wasnt compatible.

You think that an xbox will be able to run on a 300? and if not, whats the biggest size I can get for my xbox? Could someone show me a compatabilities list?

Also... while install the wires that align my X3CE switchboard's Lan and HD lights to shine, I left out a line for D0. I wanted to know if its a big deal that I taped it to the side of my xbox and not hooked it up (no soldering equipment)...

Thanks for the info in advance.

well there are compatability charts on the net. Just search for
    "xbox HDD compatibility"
But i can tell you i have a 300GB in mine and love it.
Play all my games from the HDD, never from the discs.
Mine is a Western Digital i took out of my PC
go to the Teammodders link in my sig below, go to the forums, go to the Xbox Tutorials and there is a full guide with pictures on how to install one, and how to format it and install stuff from a autoistaller disc called Slayer 2.6, which you would have to get from a torrent site. The auto installer will install pretty much everything you need on you new HDD after it formats it. It is a great tool to have handy.
P.S you will need some special screwdriver bits called Torx (i hope i spelled that right) but the guide will tell you which one's if you read it. I just happened to have them in the emergency tool kit i had for the car.

I have a prime page for that in my bookmarks at home. I'll post it here later. I've heard of someone using a 500gb. But I don't know how that all worked. There are a fair number of 300gb drives that work, and even some 400gb. I'll gladly give you that link in a couple hours when I have access to it again.
