okay im trying to burn jarhead its 8mega bytes almost 9 i used dvd fab and then open dvd shrink and dvd decrypter and when i go into open file in dvd shrink it wont open the file i mean it does but i get the message dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue failed to read file "c:\dvdwork\jarhead\video_ts\vts_01_0.vob" invalid access to memory location i know the dvd is to big to burn but after i get rid of all the extras it will be okay. im new to this but ive already burned ocean's 12 without a problem. i looked thru guides and so forth they said that sony has a new copy protection im uising all the proper software so i dont under stand this plus the dvd is not made by sony. im am also having the same problem with transporter 2
Not that I am trying to sell you new software, but I have stopped using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink long time ago. I now use anydvd and clonedvd from www.slysoft.com. I haven't had any problems with newer movies and it is simple to use. It's not free. But worth the little bit of money that you spend. There is a 21 day trial of their products and usually a discount if you mention afterdawn. Or maybe there is someone out there that is better at using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink than I am. Oh and I have burned Jarhead successfully.
@azn7126 Run the files that you ripped thru vobblanker. Here's a guide to help: http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-DVD-DVDFAB-Decrypter-VobBLanker-Nero-Recode-2.php You can use shrink instead of recode then proceed as usual. This should to the trick. Transporter 2 (region 1) has nothing special on it but the above method will work for all movies.
ill try anydvd and and clone dvd but jarhead is 8gb almost 9 and i only have 4.7gb disk what do you recommend?
@azn7126 Anydvd is a driver that runs in the background that breaks the copy protection - Clonedvd will encode and compress the movie to fit on a dvd5 (4.7 whcih is actually 4.38)
Use dvd decrypter to save the dvd on your hard drive. Then use dvd shrink to make it smaller, then dvd decrypter again to burn it.
I have used ANYDVD and CloneDVD2 to make a backup of Jarhead. I have yet to run into a movie that these two can't handle yet. www.slysoft.com offers a 21 day free trial of these two great programs, well worth a try.
i had no troublegetting jarhead using dvd shrink alone... although i have had that message before from movies i copied off of cable television with my standalone dvd recorder that i was transfering back to my pc... and i feel that if i had anydvd still i wouldnt have encountered this problem but due to some financial struggles me and my family of five are enduring at the moment i will have to wait... but despite letting anydvd expire i fully want to promote this product... and hes right... it removes all that macroshit.... ive noticed on dvd shrink when im ripping a movie instead of encryption status reading "not encrypted" they are reading shit like CA;05;75;UA (just an example) under encryption status. so dont let yours expire... go ahead and pay for it
@Skitzy The free way that will handle all the new movies is dvdfab decrypter and vobblanker - then you can process with shrink as usual. So if you come across one that shrink or can't handle (lately it's becoming more & more) use the guide above - step by step process.
Just completed Jarhead about 20 minutes ago using AnyDVD & CloneDVD2. I burned the whole movie. This is the first time I have burned the whole movie (usually only the title), and the first time I have book-typed a DVD+R to DVD-ROM. Guess this was a couple of firsts for me. I have a NEC 3520A and have never been able to flash it with BT files, but was finally able to do so with the help of 3 of the great people here at AD.
i fixed it but now the problem is that it is to big of a file to burn even when i compress it the files to big to burn to a dvd-5 disk
