So yea... I'm replacing a Celeron 950mhz in my shitty comp with an Intel Pentium III 933mhz and was wondering how much of a difference this could make. I understand that Celerons and PII were closely matched but I'm curious as to how much faster and efficient the PIII should be compared to the old Celeron.

Also... and I know this is a edited by ddp comp, but I was thinking of overclocking for the first time. To try to make this computer almost worthy of basic programs... but I only have 384mb ram. I was wondering to what extent can I possibly overclock this computer.

Thanks for any and all help.

First of all, you'll shortly find that the s word will be replaced with "edited by ddp". Secondly, 384MB RAM is plenty for running most programs except for games. Overclocking will really depend on what memory you have, stop by the official overclocking thread for more info. A P3 933 should easily outperform a Ce950.
