Hello everyone, My name is John and i am a newbie to this group and form. I had some questions concerning "DVD REBUILDER" + "CCS SP or CCS BASIC". Here is my situation. I have a new sony DRX810 DUAL and DOUBLE LAYER BURNER. I am using anydvd along side clone dvd 2. I was using dvd r+ DL and went to dvd r+ because of the cost of each disk. i know going from DVD9 to DVD5 you will lose quailty because of the compression. DVD Rebuilder along with ccs sp or basic is suposed to minamize the quailty loss fron the compression. What i am trying to figure out will it be worth going out buying dvd rebuilder the professional version along with say css basic which i think is 65 bucks so say both packages run me 140 or 150. I mean how much quailty will i actually "GAIN BACK" from the compression using these two programs when i can eat the cost and go back to using DVD R + DL. I mean quailty really comes at a high cost. anyways can anyone please shead some light on this subject please thank you John Bryson
I think it's best to go with DVD-RB Pro (only cost $30 US), you'll get every updates for life. On the other hand, if you "don't" want to spend $2K for CCE SP, then you can use CCE basic or HC (FREE), if times is "not" an issue for you. Some people even says if you have the right set-up with DVD-RB Pro and HC, your backups will be as great as DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP. However, that is in the eyes of the beholder. Now-a-days, I only use DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP and I can hardly tell the differences from the original and my backup(s).
60+30=90 I personally reccomend trying the freeware version it comes with hcenc which is a free high quality encoder, get it set-up give it a test run or two when you get comfortable w/ the prog is when you will find it worth the money to pay 30 bucks for teh advanced features. note that rebuilder will take more time to process the files than say " dvd shrink 3.2 " but the end result is awesome by comparison.
Hi John, I recommend that you go with DVDrebuilderPro and the version of CCE that you can afford. I have used Roxio and DVDshrink to compress and the results were pretty average. I then switched to DVDrbpro with CCE and the quality is pretty amazing. Use 3 passes, don't sweat the time, and then burn your finished result to some Verbatim DVD's which you should be able to get for about 34cents in bulk. Well worth the investment. I have done about 100 movies this way and very rarely can you tell the difference. Best of luck.
Try the free vs of rb with hcenc and after you have had a chance to experiece the outstanding quality of these utilities, move up to rb pro and cce basic. There is a link to the installer of the free vs in my sig. BTW hcenc is included in the installer vs.
After breaking the 1000 barrior..... I used DVD-RB/CCE for about half of those! The quality can't be beat and now it's the only program I use unless there's no need for compression...... then it's just Remake and burn! I can't tell the difference between the original and the backup! Money well spent!
I’m with you IHoe, I’m new to DVD-RB/CCE and I regret not giving it a shot sooner. Even, before I read your post, that’s what I had come to the conclusion, seen the results of DVD-RB/CCE on a DVD-5 disc, I was blown away. It’s like you’ve said “Money well spent!” --------------------------//---------------------------- It’s touch down for DVD-RB/CCE
When you run the DVD through VOB Blanker, then back it up w/ DVD Shrink; the combo is great and you end up w/ a high quality backup.
