sorry if this the wrong place to post this q: i normally convert my avi to vcd / svcd / dvd using tmpgenc and i'm quite happy/satisfied with it now i'm looking for a software that will convert mpeg1/2 into video_ts w/o any quality loss (if possible) so that i can use dvdrebuilder to finally encode it and fit it to dvd5 i do this cause i normally try to fit more than 1 movie in a dvd5 any suggestion (comment?)
All you need to do to an Mpeg-2 is to author it into a video_ts. This is assuming that it is DVD compliant or you've hacked the header. This is not re-encoding so no quality lost. Mpeg-1 is a different animal. You could convert, or use SVCD2DVDMPG to hack the header so that it can be used on a DVD. You will need to convert the audio to 48Khz. There are many tools and ways to accomplish what you want, but to do it without re-encoding, I recommend this way.
