After a couple of days installing and uninstalling the latest version 7.0.8.2 I feel I,m almost there, except for an irritating problem during Nero StartSmart when I get a windows error box saying -

Nero StartSmart.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close. We are sorry etc, etc....

Error report contains - Error signature App Name nerostartsmart.exe. AppVer:3.0.41 ModVer:0.0.0.0 Offset ca83ee

    Reporting details -
This error report includes:information regarding the condition of Nero StartSmart exe:the operating system version and computer hardware in use:your Digital Product ID,which could be used to identify your licence:and the Internet Protocol (IP)address of your computer.

    etc etc .....

Can some one please tell me what all this means and how to get rid of the message on start-up.

If I close and open Nero a few times it eventually goes away.

Any ideas how or what is required to kill this error window for good.

    Best Regards

I have struggled with Nero 7 for over a week and received no replies from their support - except for the automated ones.

I suggest we all delete this rubbish product and all who have paid for the upgrade claim a refund and some sort of compensation.

    Eliminate Nero.

Have done this, however, because I had Nero 6 previously I can,t clean all the nero 6 installed files, despite using clean 6 and clean 7 files. Clean 7 stops after a while and says something like "found other files relating to nero and abandoned clean 7 to prevent damage to your computer" Hence the reason I just what to remove the error pop up window. But thanks anyway.

    Cheers
