I tried to burn a movie that I backed up with a HP DVD WRITER 740b. I tried to play it in several DVD players and it never played. It displayed unspecified format. I think my problem is that I need to book type it from the DVD+R booktype to DVD-ROM. I am using DVD+R's. The problem is that I have no idea how to change the booktype for this type of burner or if the booktyping can even be changed for this type of burner. If you have any help for me or any questions then please let me know. Thanks for the help.....

I have that light scribe burner installed in my hp system. I think
that you are referring to that message you get when nero first starts to burn the video. This is normal. Try switching your media to
    dvd-r.

i also have the same burner.and i also did the same thing my first couple tries.wasted a few dvd's that burner should allready be setup for booktyping.what programs did you use to burn the movie?i found that nero doesnt do as good as a job that it is built up to.try this thread out and see if it helps you with the booktype it worked great for me.

also theres a program out there called dvd identifier it checks your burned dvd's and lets you know if it has been booktyped. to shows it as a dvd+r and as dvd-rom which is what you want

    DVDInfopro does the same thing.

My dad has this drive. He just bought the new system. I only use the drive for its lightscribe abilities :)
